Divorce (or the dissolution of marriage) is the termination of a marital union.  There are many reasons or circumstances that can lead a person to decide to dissolve their marriage.   We will work with you to devise the best strategy for your case. From our initial meeting we will take the time to walk your through the steps of the divorce and manage your expectations every step of the way.  We look to resolve issues and work together to achieve amicable solutions.  When agreements are not able to made, we are positioned and highly skilled in taking the divorce to the courtroom.

Family law proceedings which involve issues of child custody generate the most acrimonious disputes. While most parents cooperate when it comes to sharing their children and resort to mediation to settle a dispute, not all do. Child custody, visitation and support are issues that are addressed during a divorce when there are children of the marriage. When children are born out of wedlock, then these issues, as well as paternity, are handled in Family Court. The amount of support is determined by the state’s child support guidelines, which include the parents’ incomes, the number of children requiring child support and the interests of the children.
